Here She Comes to Jerk the Rooster

I just wanted to say thank you to grad students Noel Paul and Stefan Moore, aka That Go, for creating this awesome video for Canadian Electro-Rap duo Thunderheist‘s “Jerk It.”  It really sheds some light on the meaning behind the song.

Also, here’s Jokers of the Scene’s remix of  the song for you listening pleasure.

Fully Fitted – THIS IS A TAKEOVER!!!!

Fully Fitted’s Re-Edit EP is just what I’ve been waiting for; an all out classic hip hop/electro sampling, foul-mouthed party album.  Read Turntablelab’s review below and download the track Roll It below that.  Then go buy the album, play it at the next party you’re at regardless of where it is and watch people go bonkers. It’ll kinda be like the video below, but instead of rastas doing lazy running-mans, hipster chicks will be shakin it to the ground. REMOVE YA!!!

Led by Spank Rock producer XXXchange and featuring the talents of Amanda Blank, Pase Rock (Five Deez), !!!’s Tyler Pope, and Sylvia of Kudu, the Fully Fitted crew has been steady infiltrating clubs this year, and the takeover can only get stronger with this, their official debut release on Money Studies. Leading off with an intro from French rap clown prince The Genevan Heathen, the EP hits the ground running with a remix of DJ Class’ blazing, “Rump Shaker” horn-sampling “Roll It” with Pase on vocals (instrumental also included). XXXchange’s dirty south / French electro hybrid “100 Million” is sure to blow some heads; ditto for his rework of house favorite “He Not In,” which features insane original synth work and even some dancehall flavoring. And that’s just the A-side! Every wondered how Paul Simon would fare in a grimy Bmore club? Chipset & Devlin give you the answer on the much anticipated “50 Ways,” which has literally been years in the making and now features a verse from fellow Spank Rock associate Ms. Blank. (Got the instrumental for that one, too.) The terrifying trio of XXX, Devlin & Darko round things out with the extra hype party break “New Day,” and “Shake It,” which transforms DJ Blaqstarr’s “Shake It To The Ground” into a Rong-style slow burner. Definitely recommended.

How bout a Little Jinder?

Little Jinder – Polyhedron

The latest release from NYC’s Trouble & Bass Crew is Little Jinder’s Polyhedron EP.  Read the review from Turntablelab.com below and download the title track.

“Whoa. Impressive new sounds on Trouble & Bass Recordings with their latest release by Little Jinder. The Polyhedron EP is the name of the release from this talented 20 year old Swedish producer/singer/song writer and has a much more toned down and emotional vibe than the usual hype club/rave releases on the label. Not mad at that at all and I think it’s definitely a welcome change. Upon first listen to the opener (Eat My Fears) I couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Bjork the way her soft voice contrasts the tough beat and haunting melody. But with I Like It Casual, Little Jinder picks it up to a new disco italo vibe reminscent of something of Italians Do It Better but with a bit more pop sensibilities. The title track Polyhedron has a remarkable electronic beat that is something like early Warp or Aphex stuff, but again with Jinder’s sweet vocals on the top. I still can’t believe she sings AND produces all this stuff! Definitely lots of potential to blow up. Recommended.”
