My homegirl Michelle in San Diego turned me onto to this little jem from 2004 by Sweedish duo The Knife recently and I must say that it’s a perfect summertime treat. I can’t wait to get all lazy while listening to this on the beach this weekend.

The Knife – Heartbeats
And Hensforth we have a Shadow
I like this track which was remixed by Hensforth. It is a real interesting take on the DJ Shadow’s Midnight In A Perfect World. (1996) Take a listen for yourself, sounds like Hensforth really know how to take a jelly and make it a jam. Both versions are amazing!

A-Trak’s Running Man “Say Whoa” Single
Five time DMC champ/Kanye’s tour DJ/possibly my favorite hipster techno party starter A-Trak is the latest to step up to the plate for the Nike + Original Run mix series with Running Man. Following in the footsteps of LCD Soundsystem, Crystal Method and Aesop Rock, A-Trak strings together a 40 minute plus mix guaranteed to keep your feet moving whether you’re hitting it hard on the treadmill or getting stupid on the dance floor. Check out the single “Say Whoa” below and get your ass to iTunes to cop the whole thing.
California Soul
Here it is, a real summertime banger. If you were at the last looks party you heard “Summertime” by the Fresh Prince and will continue to all summer long, but if you looking for something a bit more sophisticated for the summer check out this gem … it’s gonna grab a hold on you for sure
Minitel Rose – “Magic Powder” video
This is definately one of the most fantastically cheesy videos I’ve seen in a while, but I’ll tell you what, Minitel Rose is serioius! These “three french boys back from the future” crank up spaced out electro jams that just may be the next big thing. Peep their myspace page and also visit Missingtoof’s Minitel Rose archives to cop a bunch of sick tracks.

New C-Rayz Walz and Kosha Dillz Video by The Bddder King
Here’s a little promotional video for Kosha Dillz and C-Rayz Walz song “Outro” from the “Freestyle vs. Written” album on Modular Moods.

Universal Mind Control
I’m totally feeling Common’s new track with Pharrell, UMC (Universal Mind Control) from his upcoming album Invincible Summer. Ya gotta love the Planet Rock type beat coupled with the Busy B-esque chorus. Plus Common always comes correct. Check out the song on the shitty youtube video below.
Grindin’!
I may have been just really drunk, but it seemed like the crowd was totally feeling Dj Donna Summer’s “Sweet Assed Child O Mine.” I mean seriously, how couldn’t you.

A picture is worth a thousand words, or something.
Get ready for some fun tonight!
This song and video makes me happy so don’t be surprised if I drop it on your heads when your drunk. Hopefully it’ll make you happy too.

Freestyle vs. Written
My man Kosha Dillz hit me off with the press release for his flaming hot forthcoming collaboration album “Freestyle vs. Written” with NYC freestyle king C-Rayz Walz. Check out the link below and support local indie hip hop. Shit’s fire!
Click here for the full press release including full MP3 stream of the album
ALBUM PRESS:
Indie hip-hop icon C-Rayz Walz teams up with fresh-faced, yeshiva-trained wordsmith Kosha Dillzfortwelve tracks that mix freestyle and written rhymes, classic and new-school beats, and the frantic, fast-paced energy of a single, manic 24-hour recording session to produce, yes, “Freestyle Vs. Written,” the first collaboration of its type. CMJ writes, “.. it’s both a statement of cultural solidarity and creative open-mindedness.”
It’s an album that breaks borders and pushes boundaries. Songs like “I Love Jews” and “Ariel Sharon” are packed with classic hip rock samples and party moving sounds. Boasting collaborations with Murs, Matisyahu and MF Doom between them, and gracing the covers of magazines such as Entertainment Weekly and Source Magazine and spots on MTV, the two artists are ready to take the world by storm.
This soon-to-be-classic record was produced entirely by, 19-year-old Kentron Da Mastadon, who challanges the hip hop mold, armed with an MP of psychedelic rock riffs and jazz chops weaving the perfect backdrop for this Jerusalem Zionist-meets-Black Bronx ghetto aesthetic.
