I’m loving the Busy P featuring Murs “To Protect and Entertain” Crookers Remix from the Aoki mix. One of my favorite rappers together with one of my favorite dance remixers. It doesn’t get much better than that. Download the full song below.
I just wanted to say thank you to grad students Noel Paul and Stefan Moore, aka That Go, for creating this awesome video for Canadian Electro-Rap duo Thunderheist’s “Jerk It.” It really sheds some light on the meaning behind the song.
Also, here’s Jokers of the Scene’s remix of the song for you listening pleasure.
Those crazy Canadians MSTRKRFT are back with another dope remix of an R&B club hit. This time they make a dance floor banger out of John Legend & Andre 3000’s “Green Light.” Keep em coming boys.
Mix tapes have always been an integral part of NYC’s underground culture and burgeoning music scene, and as such, Mishka is proud to carry on the tradition with the launch of Keep Watch. Featuring top DJs hailing from every genre and geographic corner, Mishka’s Keep Watch party-mixes celebrates one of the most widely practiced American art forms. Released bi-monthly with an accompanying party to boot, the mixes will be available for free download through mishkanyc.com and iTunes.
To kick off the Keep Watch series, we have invited our Canadian friends, Jokers of the Scene (JOTS), to put together something special just for you. This first volume by JOTS also celebrates the 5th anniversary of their high popular club night Disorganised, which has hosted the earliest Canadian appearances of such party heroes like MSTRKRFT, CSS, Diplo, Crystal Castles and Girl Talk. Listeners can expect to hear mind-melting mixes that are loud, fun and guaranteed to light up dance floors.
This remix, coming compliments of www.flufftronix.com, has a little something for everybody; bass heavy rock inspired electro beats, cheesy top 40 recognizable-by-all vocals, and my favorite classic rock piano breakdown of all time. The recipe makes for a perfect dance floor banger for all occasions.
I like this track which was remixed by Hensforth. It is a real interesting take on the DJ Shadow’s Midnight In A Perfect World. (1996) Take a listen for yourself, sounds like Hensforth really know how to take a jelly and make it a jam. Both versions are amazing!
Here it is, a real summertime banger. If you were at the last looks party you heard “Summertime” by the Fresh Prince and will continue to all summer long, but if you looking for something a bit more sophisticated for the summer check out this gem … it’s gonna grab a hold on you for sure
This is definately one of the most fantastically cheesy videos I’ve seen in a while, but I’ll tell you what, Minitel Rose is serioius! These “three french boys back from the future” crank up spaced out electro jams that just may be the next big thing. Peep their myspace page and also visit Missingtoof’s Minitel Rose archives to cop a bunch of sick tracks.
I’m really digging these two from Missingtoof:
West Coast Valerie – Official Theme of Valerie (Minitel Rose Remix)
The Kinks – Sunny Afternoon (Minitel Rose Remix)
